Thursday afternoon saw a rematch between the Lancer soccer team and Summit Soccer Club. Earlier this season, the Summit team captured the Lancer Invitational Championship by defeating OCS 8-0. However, the Lancers were out to show they were a different team.

In the first half, Summit opened the scoring with the first goal of the match. The Lancers pressed on and maintained their composure resulting in a goal by freshman Connor Butcher on a great pass from Joseph Siedel to tie the game 1-1.

In the second half, both teams had their chances but couldn’t find the back of the net. Lancers goalkeeper, Austin Carter, continued his strong performance this season by keeping Summit off the scoreboard late in the game maintaining the tie score as time ran out.

OCS goes on the road Saturday (9/9) taking on Parkway Christian at 11am. We’d love your support. Go Lancers!
