Lancer VB Falls to Parkway Christian

volleyball

Thursday evening, Oakland Christian opened their home volleyball season by hosting Parkway Christian.

In the Varsity match, both teams battled and played well, but in the end, Parkway scored a close victory, winning 25-20, 25-23, 25-22. With only 12 players on the team, OCS divided into two teams of 6 players each, in order to play a JV and Varsity match. While that is great for the development of its younger players, it meant that OCS had no players available for substitution in either match. The starting 6 played the entire match.

Katie Hopkins led the team with 14 digs, and had 3 kills with 0 errors on 10 attacks. Kaylee Page led the team with 7 kills, and Hailee Ide was 13 for 14 serving.
The JV match was the first OCS JV competition since 2014. Katelyn Ermshler was 6 for 6 serving with two aces, and had 5 digs. Livia Quartieri and Irene Gomez also played a solid game.

The OCS volleyball team has room for up to four more players.  Female students interested in joining the volleyball team should contact Mr. Hopkins
