Boys Varsity Basketball · Lancers Basketball Defeat Roeper 60-32

On Thursday night following the OCS snow day, the Lancers welcome longtime conference rival Roeper for the OCS Christmas Invitational. The Lancers jumped out to an early 1st quarter lead 19-4 on the hot hand of Ryder Patterson with 11 of his game-high 20 points. The Lancers continued their dominance going into halftime with a 34-8 lead. The Lancers closed out the night at 60-32.

The Lancers’ run was primarily based on attacking the basket on the offensive end and strong full-court pressure on the defensive side of the ball. Kyle Barba and Seth Williams led the defensive charge as they were assigned the top two Rough Riders – Josiah Smith and Evan Akkashian. The Lancers were able to limit the Rough Riders top two scorers with great defensive pressure, positioning and help. Smith and Akkashian were only able to score 7 and 8 points respectively. Jon Gardner came off the bench to lead the Rough Riders with 12 points.

The Lancers were led by Ryder Patterson with 20 points. Seth Williams scored 15 points, Josh Siminski with 8 points and Derrick Dysart and Noah ford added 6 points.

The Lancers are now 4-0 with their last contest before the Christmas break against Charyl Stockwell Tuesday on the road at 8:00 pm.
