It was a tough week for the varsity baseball team. The Lancers struggled in their first meeting on Tuesday, losing 16 to 1 to league foe Lutheran High Northwest. One bright spot was a home run to deep centerfield by Justin Johnson. Thursday, Senior Mike Sweeney has his best performance of the year going 6 innings on the mound. He finished with 6 strikeouts while only giving up one earned run. The Crusaders pushed across 3 runs in the 7th and won 5-2. Riley Vaught, Alex Kirschman, and Evan Bobo lead the offense with multiple hits. The Lancers continue league play Tuesday and Thursday this week against Plymouth Christian.
