The Lancer Cross-Country teams opened their 2018 season with a 22nd place finish at the Oakland University Invitational on Friday, 8/31. Junior Tim Dupree led the boys’ team, finishing the 4K course in a time of 16:04, an improvement of 50 seconds over the same course last year. Freshman Ethan McFarland was the second Lancer finisher, in 17:52. In the JV race, senior Carl Engelmann showed a 1.5-minute improvement over the same race last year.
Four Lancer girls made their cross-country debuts in the JV race, led by sophomore Katelynn Ermshler in 23:26, followed by seniors Haley Redfern and Chloe Frazier and freshman Adeline Sanchez.
The next meet for the team is at the Genesee Invitational on Saturday, 9/8.
