The OCS cross-country teams ended their seasons in spectacular fashion at the regional cross-country race on Friday. For the girls, Claire Rau lowered her personal best to 23:20 and Mackenzie Wander was close behind in 23:59. Amy Gammon lowered her personal best by 50 seconds and Katelyn Ermshler ran her best time of the year, over a minute faster than last week. Kaylin Tossey lowered her personal best by 100 seconds for the second straight meet as the girls were able to finish a full team of five for the first time since the beginning of the season, ending in 7th place of 9 teams.
Tim Dupree qualified individually for the state finals with his second straight regional medal, finishing 8th in a personal best 17:32. Luke Messing fought through injury to finish in 18:38, and Ethan McFarland improved his best to 18:50, almost 2 minutes better than last year. Ethan Bryant finished 4th for OCS, lowering his PR to 20:02, a 7:21 improvement since his first race. Preston McFarland and Clint Sumner concluded their careers with personal bests of 20:06 and 20:11, while Dean Moshier finished at 20:44 as the boys’ team earned a 6th place finish out of 11 teams. In the boys JV race, Max Ulrich ran his best time of the year and Justin Ye cut over 3 minutes off his previous best race!
