Girls Varsity Basketball · Lady Lancers Defeat Lutheran Westland 60-24


On Tuesday night, the Lady Lancers Varsity Girls’ Basketball team welcomed Lutheran Westland to OCS for a battle between division rivals from 2018-2019.  The Lady Lancers fell behind to start the game 7-1, but were able to use their speed, quickness, and defense to secure several steals and great transition baskets on the offensive end.  The Lady Lancers went on a 17-0 run to finish the quarter and ended the quarter up 18-7.  The Lady Lancers’ great defense continued throughout the first half and was able to build a 31-12 lead going into halftime.  The final score at the end of the game found the Lady Lancers on the winning end by a score of 60-24.

The entire Lady Lancers team contributed to a great win on Tuesday.  Their unselfish play all evening led to a great victory.  The Lady Lancers were led by Alaina Franey with 24 points, Claire Rau with 13 and Angelina Tringali with 12.  Many other Lady Lancers contributed with rebounds, assists, and steals throughout the game.  It was a tremendous unselfish game for the team.

Lady Lancers improved to 2-1 on the season.  Lady Lancers welcome The Academy of Sacred Heart on Friday night at 6:00 pm.
