Girls Varsity Basketball · Varsity Girls’ Basketball Awards

From: Brian Franey, Varsity Girls’ Head Coach

The 2019-2020 Girls basketball season came to an end in early March in the district final – and what a final game that was.  A game WOLL never gave the OCS girls a chance to be in, but their fight and determination throughout the evening took the game right down to the final shot.  As I have told the girls many times, that shot will not define them as a player or team, each showed an incredible amount of effort and poise to stay in that game in front of a packed gymnasium.  The great news is the team had no seniors on the roster.  Each of the players can help to write the script for next season through hard work this offseason.  A big thank you to the parents this year for their patience and encouragement to the coaches and team.  As well as Coach Watterworth (BW’s), for her hard work and dedication to these girls all season long.  Due to the COVID situation, we were unable to get together this year for an in-person banquet, however, we held a Zoom call to go through this year’s highlights.
