Six seniors for Lutheran Northwest played in the final home game of their career on Senior Night, hoping for a win. The visiting Lancers from Oakland Christian had other plans however. The young OCS team, comprised of three sophomores and five freshmen, defeated Lutheran Northwest by a score of 25-23, 25-18.
Hailee Ide led the defensive effort with 19 digs. Kaylee Page had 6 kills and Katie Hopkins had 9 assists.
For the second match of the evening, the Lancers faced Everest Collegiate and fell in two sets, 29-27, 25-18.
Anna Frazee led the Lancer’s offense with 6 kills and Katie Hopkins had 11 assists. Hailee Ide and Olivia Colletti had 9 digs each.
OCS is hoping for a rematch against Everest in the District Finals next week. With one win and one loss on the evening, the Lancers’ record for the season is 28-12-3.
District play begins on Monday, hosted by Oakland Christian. OCS faces Auburn Hills Christian at 6:00 PM in the opening round. The winner of that match will face the winner of Frankel Jewish Academy and Novi Christian on Tuesday at 6:30. In the other semifinal, Everest Academy will face Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes Tuesday at 5:00. The district finals will be played at 6:00 on Thursday.
