The OCS volleyball team advanced in district competition by defeating Auburn Hills Christian, 25-7, 25-11, 25-7.
The evening started with a national anthem duet by Jada Huguley and her sister, Alyssa, who is a senior volleyball player at Auburn Hills Christian.
Once the play began, the Lancers serves proved to be too strong for the visiting Cougars. OCS registered 25 aces on 74 serves, and were led by Katie Hopkins with 6, Micah Tison with 5, plus Hailee Ide and Olivia Colletti had 4 each. On offense, Katie Hopkins had 21 assists, and Anna Frazee led the team with 6 kills. Kaylee Page had 5 kills, and Alaina Franey, Jada Huguley, and Abigail Smither each added 3 kills.
The Lancers improved their record to 22-12-2 on the season, and will meet Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes at 7:00 on Thursday in the district finals.
